1. Open Studio Weekend
Held biannually in the spring and fall, this is one event you won’t want to miss! During Open Studio Weekend, the local galleries open their doors to the public, offering visitors the chance to see artisans perfecting their craft. Speak with local Vermont artists and craftspeople, see them create stunning works of art, and purchase your favorite pieces. The spring event takes place over Memorial Day Weekend, while the fall event is held the first or second weekend of October.
2. Arlington Village Farmers Market
From fresh produce and baked goods to fine art and crafts, the Arlington Village Farmers Market has it all! Take your time browsing the local vendors for artisan cheese, meat, fresh fruit and vegetables, jams, jellies, bread, honey, maple syrup, pastries, and more. There is also a Featured Artist corner each week with a selection of pottery, wood carvings, and other crafts.
The Arlington Village Farmers Market typically kicks off in mid-June and runs through the beginning of September. 3. Mayfest Arts and Crafts Festival
Featuring more than 100 artisans and crafters from throughout the Northeast, the Mayfest Arts and Craft Festival is one of the best VT craft shows. The event is held in nearby Bennington each May. When you visit, you’ll discover handmade crafts of wood, pottery, glass, metal, jewelry, and fabrics. In addition to one-of-a-kind arts and crafts, there are food trucks, contests, games, and more. 4. Southern Vermont Art and Craft Festival
This international festival is one of the most anticipated events in the state! The Southern Vermont Art and Craft Festival is part of the Bennington Arts Weekend, which is always held the first weekend in August. Here, you’ll discover nearly 200 exhibitors showcasing fine art and handmade crafts. Have a great time shopping, listening to live music, and enjoying great food, beer, or wine in the dining tent. 5. Norman’s Attic
Also held the first weekend in August, Norman’s Attic will be celebrating its 25th year in 2020. There are tag sales along many of the roads and byways of Arlington, as well as several participating vendors on Main Street. Find some amazing deals and beautiful works of art.
